A perfect product

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.
Truly fantastic product – it instantly mirrors my Pixelbook’s display, experiencing smooth video, great colour reproduction, and zero lag or artefacts on my 4K TV. I am thoroughly impressed – I usually have issues with PC-HDMI cables, but CHOETECH have made an excellent product.
The only pre-purchase consideration is whether your device is compatible with it, particularly if you’re intending to use it with a smartphone – e.g. my Pixel 3 doesn’t support the USB HDMI standard, so it doesn’t work with any USB-C video adaptors. The included instruction manual states that the Samsung Galaxy S8, S9 series, Note 8, and Huawei Mate 10 are compatible.
Overheats and colours are wrong
Reviewed in Australia on 27 March 2021
The HDMI-end of this cable gets very hot, and for some reason the colours were a bit washed out so light greys became white (connected to 2020 MacBook Pro). This didn’t happen for another brand’s cable with the same specs.
Overall very good
Reviewed in Australia on 10 May 2020
I have been using my cable for the past month once in a while. So far it’s been good. the connection is fast and with a clear image. However, sometimes the connection seems a bit unstable to any movement. This is my first hdmi cable ever, so I have nothing to compare with, but if I need to move my laptop in the desk a bit, the connection will jump out for a couple of seconds and comes back real quick. This doesn’t worry me for the type of work I do, but I thought I’d mention for other users that might have problems with this happening.
Overall, I am satisfied with the product and it is good not using an adaptor to my macbook. I have used both to connect to a bigger computer monitor and to my Tv.
Works perfectly with a 2017 iMac and external Dell Monitor
Reviewed in Australia on 17 October 2018
Works perfectly- just plug and play! Due to the nature of the connection, it will also send audio to the external monitor. You can change this in System Preferences (and, in my case, Premiere preferences). This is a not a fault in the cable- my external monitor does not have speakers or audio out, but your setup might.
I use this in Premiere so I have have my edited video running on the external monitor with my media and timeline on my iMac. It makes my work so much easier, and is only about 20% of the price of Apple’s USB-C to HDMI dongle.
check its compatable with your device
Reviewed in Australia on 6 July 2020
This adapter does not work for me, I have tried it in a Thinkpad T470s and a 2020 HP Spectra X360 and they both have the same error.
I assume the devices don’t support the “Display Port Alternate Mode” that this device requires.
I have used other USB-C to HDMI adapters with the T470s many times successfully in the past so I’m going to buy one that lists the laptop as compatible.
Fast and Easy!
Reviewed in Australia on 9 April 2020
Product seems well made for the price and instantly with no hassle, connected my laptop via usb-c to my hdmi monitor. My laptop (dell latitude) has a usb-c and hdmi port. I wanted extended desktop dual monitors (and the laptop screen as a third, but wasn’t too worried about this part). I already used the hdmi to 1x external monitor but wanted the 2nd for “extend” and not mirror. Plugging the usb-c to hdmi for the 2nd external monitor immediately worked on my laptop and the laptop screen still works as a 3rd monitor. Perfect solution and much cheaper than buying a external docking station to get the monitors going. Amazing!
Used for MacBook Pro (2017) Alternative to dongles
Reviewed in Australia on 4 December 2020
Was thinking to get the apple HDMI multi-port dongle, then was recommended to use this cable to directly connect my MacBook Pro 13″ (2017) to Dell 27″ S2721Qs. So far everything works fine. Sometimes there is a bit of lag, but I’m not sure if it’s because of the cable or it’s my MacBook pro that isn’t strong enough to hold Dell 27″ UHD screen. When I stream on Netflix or use photoshop etc my MacBookPro becomes so noisy and heats up.
Seemless connection with my Macbook Pro 2016 to my led tv
Reviewed in Australia on 11 October 2020
I purchased this cable so that i can hook up my Macbook Pro 2017 to my TV to watch movie. There was no problem in connection. Very good quality and affordable as compared to apple’s USB c to hdmi adaptor.
