Daily Deal for another 6 hours.
Decent deal if your computer can run it. Bugs aside. Redeem on GOG.com
I thought this was DRM free on PC?
When you buy anything on gog, you can have the game there, with automatic updates, achievements and all the goods of the client (gog galaxy), or you can download DRM free installer and run the game without gog and its features.
what does drm mean to you?
Isn’t it digitally remastered?
I.e. good old games that have higher res textures etc.
DRM = Digital Rights Management
Good example is how when you buy a game that activates with Steam. You cant share that game with other people or friends, its tied to your account.
@DyingSpree: That’s not a good example. Steam isn’t forced DRM, it’s optional by the developer, tons of indie games are drm free.
The gog version is DRM free (which is why I love gog games). Doesn’t mean it’s free. The less people support single-purchase single player games, the more you get these online only micro transaction riddled money sinks or denovo “I bought it but can’t play it!” disasters.
Fair enough. So much controversy over this game its more entertaining following the news than actually playing it.
What’s wrong w/ the game… I’ve been playing it without issues the Jonny (Keanu) part is a bit meh, but otherwise it’s pretty good.
Maybe if you’re expecting something revolutionary it might disappoint, but if you curb your expectations, it’s 7/10 good.
I didn’t come in as an unrealistic fan of CDPR, I only somewhat enjoyed TW3 tbh. I found this very average in every way, story, combat etc. I found the game very buggy, the AI pathetic, the world itself shallow and superficial.
Anyway, the CDPR protection crew have arrived so here come the neg votes to every comment criticizing it. It might make them feel better but the truth is that this still sucks right now, it’s an early beta release at best.
@Where’s_That_Cake: The neg votes will come because you’re complaining about neg votes.
@Where’s_That_Cake: Its interesting because there actually is no ai in places youd expect it (like driving). Which led to some funny bugs like panam running over and killing me during riders on the storm.
@Where’s_That_Cake: Fair enough… but I also find it very visually appealing and the dialog is pretty good, what game would you recommend?
Last game I played was Control, and I didn’t finish it.
I’ve got Doom Eternal, RDR 2, RE2 and HL Alyx (which I promise myself every day I’m going to play) in my backlog.
@raybies: RDR2 is among my favourite ever games, I’ve been playing Control and enjoy it somewhat. The last game I completed was Jedi Fallen Order, that was pretty good but I am a star wars fan so can’t really tell if I’m blinkered or not.
@Where’s_That_Cake: cyberpunk has been hyped up quite a bit, so the expectation is sky high. Hard to meet tbh.
Also, having keanu in the game may have been a mistake – keanu is such a good actor and i’m sure the producers/designers of the game wanted to make the most of him. But this means the story has to have some pre-defined path and thus, removes a large element of “immersive sims” (which deus ex did really well, and cyberpunk has not been able to replicate).
@sangohan: My understanding was keanue was originally meant to be a minor character, but cdpr reworked the story to have him as a central element.
@sangohan: I think Keanu is overrated as an actor. OK, he had some good roles in Matrix 1 and Devil’s Advocate, but in the newest movies he plays like a piece of wood. John Wick movies are poor, apart from maybe 10 minutes of dialogues from the 1st part. Also that “good, normal guy” aura around Keanu, I don’t buy it. People seems to worship him and he surely turns it into $$$. Didn’t he promote his motorcycle company in the Cyberpunk? So, I think CDPR hired Keanu to create this ridiculous hype, brilliant marketing just to push some investors and CRPR founders to one of the richest people in Poland. CDPR is the Tesla of gaming, with more worshipers than actual happy players.
Initially I was thinking 7/10 but having (begrudgingly) finished all missions it’s probably a 6/10 at best. I wasn’t expecting “revolutionary” but the driving+customization mechanics are bested by 20 year old games, the shooting very lacklustre, and the story not nearly on par with TW2 and TW3 where most side missions were at least memorable if not important.
@SteveBuscemi: “V, ive got another mission for you, kill/escort this dude.”
@SteveBuscemi: Ooph. I haven’t played it yet, but was really looking forward to an immersive and dynamic world, which is what I thought they were trying to do. Bit of a concern you’re saying the world is boring!!
@incipient: It’s shallow, think of it more like an action game, maybe like a mature Jedi: Fallen Order w/ less polish. I’m not a fan of RPGs, I just don’t have the time.
@SteveBuscemi: Sounds like Deus Ex is still a better game.
@SteveBuscemi: I also find the HUD painful to navigate. Particularly early on it was overwhelmingly hard.
Other than the bugs and glitches.. It’s quite enjoyable. I’m 65 hours in (yes, it’s been my Christmas “Holiday”) and finding it enjoyable and quite immersive. It could be better and more polished in coding / AI, but if you understand the complexity of the in-game world, then it’s a fair effort.
Running it with ray-tracing is another level of eye candy.
@bchliu: Is it really complex? It’s no more complex than any other big rpg. TW3’s world seems more alive by far. The zombie shuffling NPC’s, cars that smash through anything in their way etc
Cough Looking at you Start Citizen….just sayin, CyberPunk looking better than you Star Citizen cause they actually released something 😛
Star Citizen = Virtual Ship Trader
So this game was a big flop ay? I think I’ll wait till its about $5.
If you can get past the bugs, it’s actually quite a good game story-wise. The gunplay/combat feels really good too
Depends on your expectations. If you’re one of the people expecting a realistic sex sim then this ain’t it.
Just finished the game early this morning. Clocked over 100 hours having completed all of the side missions, which I thought to be more story-driven than the main questline.
Easily the best game I’ve played in years. Definitely got my money’s worth.
Ah ok, glad you guys are enjoying it.
For now, I still have a few other games I need to finish first.
Big flop only because of a bunch of negative press. It’s a great game once you learn the mechanics..
I really want to pay $20.77 for it >_> probably never going to be that exact price though.
Super enjoyed the game. Runs fine on my pc, handful of bugs, about what you’d expect from any new release title. Had plenty of depth, apparently how I played it was leagues different to how my mates did, so keen for a second run. Sometimes it’s worth making your own mind up about a game and getting off the internet circle jerk train
Of those 79% of players I’d imagine a lot have finished it and moved on, myself included. Game was good, will wait for the expansions.
It’s a single player game at the moment and people have finished it in 3 weeks. What’s your problem?
I haven’t experienced any real bugs, a couple of glitches here and there and only 1 which required a save reload… Jackie was standing in a door and wouldn’t move.
I don’t think it’s a bad game either, but it definitely did not meet my expectations because TW3 set the bar so high and they made representations that were not met with this game. I wouldn’t even say that it is on par with TW2, but maybe it’s because of my preferences.
From what I’m hearing, it runs like an absolute turd on last gen consoles which is inexcusable imo. On PC, it was fine. There were weird glitches here and there whilst playing on PC, but definitely nothing that ruins it for me.
I think pc really dodged a bullet compared to the consoles performance wise. First time my 1080 hasnt reached 60fps in a game before though, would kill for a dlss compatible card as from what I can see provides a big improvement As for the game I haven’t scratched the surface since I said I’ll try close out death stranding before settling into it.
Give the FidelityFX Cas options a try, you’ll find you can get some nice performance improvement with it and it looks decent, well when I was comparing to DLSS it was very close at 75% scale @ 1440p. Don’t be fooled into thinking DLSS looks as good as native, you want the better card to run it smooth at native.
Looking forward to playing this in few months… let some bugs get patched etc…
Still kind of disappointed with CD Projekt Red.
I thought all the performance fuss was old gen console users, I read the comments and wonder.
I play this in ultrawide,1080ti/4790 i7/ Its a modded Dell OptiPlex 9020 MT….that’s right.
The game is only slightly buggy on occasion, as in a texture won’t load in quick or a rag doll physics might freeze, but no more than any other pc game. Bethesda or even some Unreal based games can be consistently worse.
The games pretty awesome IMO
It appears a lot of the hype about how poor the game performs is just sensationalism, the general consensus for cyberpunk 2077 standards would say my machine is a subpar system too.
I can run ultra with no rtx of course but I get about 30ish frames to high 20s, but running in ultrawide doesn’t help. With my current settings I can maintain 60fps pretty easily, with low 50 drops only in some markets areas.
I’ve sunk in well over 30 hours on PS5, it’s got it’s flaws, but I’m hooked.
Have they updated it to be more stable and less buggy yet?
Price has been in cyber-plunge mode ever since it was released.
Only on third party cd key websites.
I’ve just finished up the game, clocked in at 98 hours. I didn’t follow development at all, so I’m not really up to date on what was promised and wasn’t given, but I really enjoyed what I got. There are definitely a ton of immersion breaking bugs. It sucked looking at the city from a distance and seeing loads of cars driving around, but then up close it’s like a ghost town. In terms of game breaking stuff, I had maybe 10 crashes in my entire time playing, and was maybe killed by stupid bugs the same amount of times. My biggest gripe was no quickload button.
If you’ve got a high-ish end PC, i’d say it’s definitely worth the $50.
You must be those lucky ones with 3080/3090. My 1080 is showing character sitting in mid-air………
Yeah I should’ve pointed that out, i’m running 3080/i7 8700k/32gb 3600mhz.
You don’t need an RTX 2000/3000 to play this.
That’s subjective. Depends on user’s desired resolution and quality settings.
@4agte: Yes but it runs fine on my 580. Surprised me actually
@belongsinforums: That is good to hear. A lot of people consider upgrading their GPU for cyberpunk alone. I think that is crazy give the current market for any GPU with 8gb of RAM or more
@4agte: It’s not subjective at all. Just because you might not be able to get all the RTX eye candy, doesn’t mean you can’t play it with half decent looking graphics still.
Basically you are saying “Oh it doesn’t run on the Ultra highest settings on my 6 year old graphics card, then it’s not playable at all” even though you can scale down the graphics to medium levels that you can still thoroughly enjoy the game content on.
@bchliu: subjective based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.
A GPU a person selects and enjoys is subjective.
I never said it wasn’t playable at lower resolutions or quality settings. I have no idea why you think I’m insisting ultra settings. A person can enjoy games at whatever settings they want, that is what makes it subjective. I usually game at 1440p but happily drop to 1080p and reduce quality for a better frame rate on my 5700XT. Curious what 6 year old graphic card will present an ok and playable gaming experience at 4k? A GTX 1080Ti isn’t quite 4 years old yet.
I’ve had firefights with enemies that float around for no reason a few times, I’ve never floated myself afaik.
Same here, did not follow development so I really had no clue what I was even getting or what was promised. I still had a good time with my 100 hours and GTX1060 for the price considering how much other forms of entertainment like going out to the movies, etc end up costing.
All that hype… countless delays… for nothing.
Let’s get to the point of this post. CDKeys is selling this cheaper than ever.
I don’t see bugs at all, not even wanting to know what they are.
As ppl said
Very disappointed in how it was released specially by such pro gamers company
Great game though and worth the money imo
The only disappointment to me is that I won’t get to play this game when it’s fully fixed and patched up as id clock 50+ hrs by them and will be over it
For anyone that can hold off till they fix it I would suggest you do that
Just finished reading up on the comments, damn I’d say I got lucky since my game only crashed once on 50+ hours playthrough on PC. Just playing at 1080p with a gtx1080. Bugs were luckily not too game breaking, seen some terrible ones. Its crazy how varied the experience user to user is.
Have just finished a complete playthrough and started on a second.
Tips for anyone who does buy this deal (especially those not running a godlike setup):
And last, but not least:
I’m currently running an old 1070ti/i7 6700k/16gb 3200mhz, was getting about 50-60fps at 1080 once I had tweaked a few settings. Overall had minimal bugs and have played nearly 100hours. I am happy enough with the game (even having paid full price!) – especially once I got gorilla arms and decided that guns were overrated…
Crashed a few times for me early on. Haven’t had any crashes since then. There are many bugs but nothing game breaking. Occasionally getting stuck on objects. Floating cigarettes. Texture pop in issues. Missing voice lines. Disappearing NPCs. Some other weird glitches.
All that said, still a brilliant game and well worth the price.
I’ll buy it in a few months when it goes on sale. By then the patches will have squashed the major bugs.
i5-4570, GTX1070, 16GB RAM and this game has been flawless. A single mission bug and that’s 60 hours into the game.
Is it buggy? Yes, but not that much more than other releases. They did cut a lot of “expected” features, waaaay over marketed the game and bit off more than they could chew. If they didn’t over sell the game the way they did then they wouldn’t have had all this negative blow back.
I finished the game and enjoyed it overall. Would pay $47 for it, too bad I paid $80.
If they release a big DLC, add a few more features / fix the bugs, this would be a way better game. IMO they released it 6 months too early, which is a shame.
The PS4 version is a joke though lol.
They pretty much had to release it early if they wanted to get sales on the ps4 and xbone seeing as this was the last major sales season where both those consoles were still highly relevant.
I would even still to this day be happy to pay full price for it.
I’m only about 30hrs into the game and really enjoying it so far. Yeah its still a bit buggy but much better since the most recent hotfix. Performance wise it runs ok on my modest spec hardware — i7 2700k & GTX980 (both overclocked), using the config ez-optimizer (detailed here: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/cyberpunk-2077-ez-optimize…) has gained me an extra 15-20fps and has made the game even better.
For this price its a steal as there are some really good gaming moments, I like to think of it as GTA meets DeusEx. Plus if you’re fortunate enough to have a gpu with ray tracing abilities you will be able to really see what it can do.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a better game than CP2077
By a country mile.
The code they provided does not f’ing work – don’t buy this.
Most accurate and succinct review of the game yet! 😉
